Il tetto del mondo it's a documentary shooted in Tagikistan in the mountains over 4000 meters. Presented at Giffoni's Venice26, as part of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.
The film follows an off-road motorcycle expedition across the Pamir, in the heart of Central Asia, through high-altitude plateaus reaching 4,500 metres, extreme landscapes, and isolated villages. At its core is not simply the destination, but the intrinsic value of the journey itself. A story that revisits the distinction between traveller and tourist, capturing the spirit of adventure in territories still far removed from conventional routes—lands that local people call Bam-i-Dunya, the “Roof of the World.”
The film is a production by Giffoni Innovation Hub and Avventure nel Mondo, developed as part of Avventure in Primo Piano, a film contest for emerging filmmakers.
